Titanium Hinged Rings

Titanium hinged Segment Closure Ring. Available in different thicknesses (stem) and diameters (choose from the menu). In uncoated Titanium, Black PVD and 18K Gold PVD coated versions.

Titanium is an extremely strong yet lightweight metallic substance used in various fields such as medicine, aerospace, construction, military hardware and jewelry.

Titanium can be used in primary piercing. It complies with the European Union Nickel Directive.

The main characteristics of Titanium are:

- Does not release nickel into the body
- Lightweight
- It has extreme chemical stability
- The surface is super smooth

PVD coating/coloring: Titanium and Titanium Nitride (Black) or Real Gold (Gold) is coated using a PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) process. The jewelry is coated in a heated chamber under high vacuum. Electric voltage applied will form a plasma in the chamber and the introduction of various gases produces an ion bombardment. This bombardment atomizes the cathode material into tiny substances which are deposited on the jewelry. The result is a hardened layer, which is biocompatible. It can be autoclaved.
